A light-modifying device inspired by the iris: pull a cord and it blooms open or closes like petals to control the light in a room, a more expressive take on the dimmer switch. As project and design lead, I helped turn that single pull into the blooming motion through cams, followers, and petal linkages.

I'm a mechanical engineering student at Stanford who likes building things, breaking them to figure out why they failed, and being able to explain both.
My work runs across biomaterials, biomechanics, and interdisciplinary art. I like living in the space where engineering and art overlap. A lot of what I make, from kinetic sculpture to graffiti, is as much one as the other, and I'm most curious about how systems, mechanical or human, hold up under pressure.
I've worked on ingestible medical devices, CT-compatible biomechanical systems, and data-driven analysis of physiological signals. Outside of research I'm a Makery Mentor, helping other students with fabrication and creative engineering projects, and I lead a couple of student organizations focused on community and access in STEM.
